Hi, unfortunately I was hit with this cyber crime unit scam, and what can I do to remove it? They are giving me 48 hours to send $500 thru PayPal which seems strange because it would be untraceable and on top of that if it’s a legal site why isn’t there a contact number? It says my device is blocked up for safety reasons. It displayed my IP Address, Location, and Name. I read something of this nature: “illegal activity distribution of child pornography”. However, I wasn’t viewing anything of that nature, so I’m curious as to why I received such a blocked cyber crime unit pop-up? Now the device is locked totally and I can’t do anything on it. Please help me exit out this scam page.

Last night I was on Safari, I got a pop-up window saying that “your mac has been blocked for security reasons”. I thought my browser might have been hijacked. It then says I should call the number listed for tech support. Every time I clicked ok, the window keeps returning. When I clicked X to close the window, it then asks me ‘Are you sure you want to leave this page?’ and gives me 2 options: Stay on page or Leave page. If i clicked on leave page it send me back to the previous window that keeps forcing me to call the toll free number. I don’t know what to do now. Do I really need to call that number? Will it really lock my mac?
What is “Your mac has been locked for security reasons call this number” pop up on Safari?
Mac users: Beware of increased tech support scam pop-ups
Nowadays, many Apple users have reported receiving pop-up notifications telling them that ‘your mac has been locked for security reasons’ and trick them into calling a phone number, where they will inevitably be asked to pay to have their precious devices fixed. This is a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser Safari, the default web browser for iOS devices. The pop-up is often caused by adware or potentially unwanted program. It commonly appears after you open an email attachment, download files, visit websites programmed to download malicious software or click on a pop-up advertisement. Once it is installed, it takes control of your web browser and blocks Safari immediately preventing you from surfing the web properly. Whenever you go online, an ad from the tech support scam will pop-up. Those pages are usually fraudulent websites such as http://www.applesecurityalert.com and http://www.securityservicedesk.com which are used by cyber criminals to promote their remote support services. It falsely claims that your Mac computer was involved in criminal activities and then it lists some crimes involving copyright and related rights law violations, distribution of prohibited pornographic content. In some cases, it may say ‘potentially threat detected’ and state that your mac computer is infected so that you need to call their paid support service to remove the infection. This is a bogus claim. Read the rest of this post »

There is a timer showing on the page and I only have 72 hours to finish paying. It says that I created a felony, is it true? Am I in great trouble with the police?

My iphone 5s has been blocked by a GB Police Scam Virus demanding that I need to pay a fine of £100. All I did was to download some stickers on Facebook messenger then this popped up and completely shut down my iphone. It says ATTENTION! Your apple ID and your mobile device has been blocked for safety reasons. If you let 24 hours pass without payment, all photos movies games documents will be deleted and you will become the subject of criminal prosecution without the right to pay the fine and the possibility of unlocking your apple id express and then it says 5 to 11 years of jail. This freaks me out and I am so worried. My photos of my son and wedding are all on there and they are irreplaceable. Plus my partner works nights and without my phone she has no way to contact me??
