Newtab.certified-toolbar.com Redirect Description
The Newtab.certified-toolbar.com redirect is a browser hijack that will change the settings to display its page whenever the web browser is opened. There are several ways that PC’s can become infected by this attack, and the most common ways are through spam emails, infected freeware file downloads, and by visiting malicious websites that contain the virus. Every time a new browser window is opened it will land on this page, which is designed to look like a real search engine. It looks identical to the Google search page without the logo and since Google often changes the homepage “Google” logo it tricks many people into believing that it is a real search engine. When the user then attempts to search the page will then redirect them to unwanted websites that are not related to the search queries. These sites contain additional viruses and malicious attacks that will work together with the Newtab.certified-toolbar.com virus to completely ruin the computer as well as put the users computer data and personal information at great risk. Do you always search information online from different add-ons on your browsers? Did you give permission to all of these toolbars to be installed? While toolbars can provide convenience for online searching, they can also be related to redirect issues. If your browser happens to have a FileBulldog toolbar, be careful. It’s not a very friendly application which you’d better get rid of right away.
