   I was searching for a song and clicked on a link which brought me to a pornographic website, and got this!(In dutch). I immediatly though it was real, until I asked a bud for help who said it was a virus, as he works in the judicial department he knew this was fake.

       you have to press the on / off button of the computer by holding it down and click it again to turn on.. it gives you 4 options safe mode, safe mode w/ network, safe mode …. and last one is start up normal or w/e..

       you pick safe mode w/ network

   I cant get into my computer on safe mode AT ALL…it wont let me. I can log onto the other log on we made for kids BUT cant log on to the admin of ours to even do anything. I DO NoT have a windows xp disk to redo it so how can I fix it from THIS side on kids??? HELP!

   Merilee, hit f8 when starting up your computer (you’ll probably need to press it several times) and when the safe mode screen comes up, open it with safe mode and command prompt. Learn a few command prompt options like how to navigate through command prompt using cd and from there you can open a lot of things like the registry and sometimes task manager. If it still says task manager is blocked, google some registry edits so that you can unblock task manager. Be careful when editing the registry though, it can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing! Hope this helps…

     Yes, crash it by pulling the battery out. Then start it up again. You will be given a selection of how to start it. Pick safe mode with networking.

    Blocked by the FBI virus or something like FBI moneypak virus. I tried several of the solutions and none of them worked for me. I have Windows 7, and the registry values were not the same as described. Here is what worked for me. I booted normally (not safe mode) and immediately ran Task Manager before the virus kicked in and locked me out. I noticed at the top of the list, was something I had not seen before (In my case it was hleo32.exe. I ended the process and that stopped the virus from activating. I then did a regedit and searched for all occurences of hleo32.exe, and deleted them. When I restarted, everything was fine.

      The FBI can not force you to pay any money without a criminal trial. This is how you know that the virus is fake, you are innocent until proven guilty and not even the FBI can force you to pay money without an official trial.

      I got this virus twice,

      the first time i got scared and force shut it off immediately, then once i turned it on my computer ran a sweep using anti-virus software and i used task manager and got it off.

      the second time i tried doing the same but it didnt work, i took out the batter waited a while, then i ran it in safe mode. once in safe mode i did a complete fix and so far that has fixed the problem.

    I was looking for music samples when I clicked a link and well you know what happened.
    I performed a system restore (booted from the Windows 7 Install dvd). Once I found I was not getting “locked out” I performed a very thorough virus and spyware scan. All is well!

    I have the same problem, i just got that fbi virus and i went to the official FBI website and typed in moneypak virus and there it was! the fbi website clearly stated that its a virus and you must not pay or use your computer until the virus is removed! if you do the virus can steal passwords and credit card numbers! i’m still trying to get it fixed i hope i helped some of you who were about to pay!

    I was infected on yesterday. I called Norton and they tried to get me to spend a couple hundred dollars. Instead I went in through safe mode and deleted all files downloaded yesterday.I think I got them all. At least I can start my computer normally now. Just did live updates and am now running a full system scan. Wish me luck.

    Yesterday I got the virus. Besides I am Computer Science Engineer, I was very convinced that this was a real FBI message.     Can anyone answer the frickin question? What flippin files do you remove in task manager; this questions has now been asked three times in this thread, I tried deleting csrss.exe and got the blue screen from death; any help would be soooooo greatly appreciated and sorry for the frustration but most every place I go, it says delete the Federal Bureau of investigation files but no one defines them.

    The reason no one can answer what to look for is because the name is a mutating string of letters and is never the same twice. Additionally to the “hot to” list here, it will no longer work. In the new versions taskmanager is locked out and it even load in safe mode. I rescued a computer from this fbi virus today and you have to go to command prompt mode and manually launch explorer and msconfig. You will need to know what to look for in the msconfig and disable it there then go find the file and delete it. As it is a mutating name exe file, try looking for something that looks really weird. Better yet get your tech friend to do it.

        I was checking my email and my laptop picked up the virus, and I was so afraid I did exactly what it said to do. I wasnt doing anything illegal, and it scared the crap out of me. Tried to remember if i downloaded anything recently, just school stuff, and all was legal. I did not know it was a scam and frightened when they said i could go to jail, (said id looked at porn, and all kinds of illegal stuff) I panickedand went out to get the $200 and paid the fine. Fortunately,I googled the information to check out for some reason i thought let me check out the code they said i committed, read an post that said it was a scam, so i called Moneypak explained to me they knew about scam that was taking place, and will be sending me a check for the money in 7-10 days.

        Now is to just get the word out about this. I fell for it, do want others to . Thank God i will get my money back.

        It is a scam dont go get moneypak and pay it. This was a scary experience.

        My computer is still messed up, so i turned it off of internet till my husband can get rid of the virus.

    I was hit by the FBI $200.00 MoneyPac Virus. I recognized immediately, this is not how the FBI works an set about getting rid of it. 1. I restarted and logged into window under my wife’s loggin. I immediately had full access to all of my computer resources, wireless network, and all programs on my system. Norton found and did nothing. Malware Bytes did nothing. They did not recognize or report anything unusual on any drive.

    I arrived from Europe and was greeted with this FBI message on my first night when I connected to the internet.

    It looks official (though afterwards once I’d paid I noticed some strange punctuation and bad writing in the text) and I was scared, especially as a foreigner who was new here, so paid the USD 200 at once.

    When my computer functioned again I found this website and called Moneypak. They quickly and easily refunded me USD 195, so out of the whole experience I am only down 10 dollars, which I put down to the price of a good lesson learned.

    I was checking my email and my friend sent me a link to a game that we had been waiting to download because it was free,so i went to the official download link to download and next thing i know a white screen popped up and a second later the FBI moneypak virus thing popped up i hit ctrl alt delete to make it go in and out and when it went back the Fbi thing was still there so i just hit ctrl alt delete again and logged off and shut my computer down.     Questions were raised asking “How can I tell this is fake & not really from the FBI”

    2 main re3asons why it’s fake:

    1: The FBI does not fine people or set up links to pay the FBI

    2: The FBI does not give you any warning or any kind of message on your computer that you have child por….they just monitor secretly and show up at your door UNANNOUNCED….that’s why they call it an FBI raid.

    Use some common sense….the FBI does not fine or extort people for money…Scammers do.

    this fbi warning virus came on my computer too
    1 minute i was watching a drama and the next this fake FBI moneypak virus scam came out out of nowhere…
    i was afraid that it was real but i was told it was a scam
    so i had leave the computer off for 2 days..nothing happened…
    i tried unplugging it for 5 minutes….still there
    why should i have to pay $200 to unlock it …DOESN’T MAKE SENSE!
    but i take the advice with the task manager

    Dont know if this will help anyone.
    Not sure if Im rid of the FBI Moneypak virus entirely, but Windows and everything else seems to be ok now.

    I cant tell you which files specifically deleted. It was a nervous 20 or thirty minutes of searching.

    I remembered about what time and date the virus popped up. So I searched Windows files for as close to that as possible. Fortunately…most of the files are years 2008-2011. One problem I did cause for myself though. Adobe Flash and Java were messed up. Java was easy enough to reinstall. Adobe Flash is being stubborn in my Opera browser

    Using old DOS commands in the “safe mode with command prompt” I scanned the files looking for the date and time.
    Using “CD..” as DOS command for change directory back one level…I went to C:\windows.
    Then used DOS command “DIR/P” as command for listing directory..one page at a time.
    I checked out files, then trash out the malicious ones.
    It was work checking out so many directories…but the date and time thing made it so much easier.

    You have to keep pushing f8 constantly until the screen pops up then use arrows and scroll down to safe mode…..after you are in look for recent uploading files on your computer…delete the most recent ones….restart computer…FBI Moneypak virus gone

    Last night the fbi page popped up.
    We were so scared! It said that we had to pay $200.
    It said that our PC (computer) has viewed child pornography!
    And it had a timer counting down of the time we had left to pay.
    We knew it was a scam and/or virus.
    But, our computer is still locked, how do we fix this?
    Its got all of our family photos and documents and we don’t want to loose them!@
    We turned the computer off, as well as the internet, and we left them all off over night. And now whenever we try to turn it on, the fbi virus scam page comes up again.

    I got scammed by this…the first time I paid without thinking it through…hell….I thought it was the FBI….and I wasn’t looking at shit…just normal shit but they said the site had links to child porn bullshit and it scared me…I haven’t ever had the desire for that creepy shit….the second time I balked…I then unplugged, removed the battery, removed the memory chip, then put it back together and restarted in safe mode, follow the FBI moneypak virus removal guide…it worked….

    Thanks so much for the web tutorial! I had all these foreign named files I had to delete. For others watching the video, the commands entered into the “Run” box are regedit and %appdata%.      There seems to be a new strain of this virus. There are no entries in the Startup folder, no identifiable registry entries, and safe mode is disabled (PC reboots when any safe mode is selected). All of my anti-malware and anti-virus programs find nothing. I noticed that it does not appear if the network cable is unplugged.

     Anyone seeing these symptoms? Conventional methods of removal are no longer working.

     I was just surfing the web, not even looking up porn let alone child porn and zoophilia, and I got this FBI virus scam along with a stern voice telling me the FBI locked my computer. Of course I freaked but ten seconds later figured that the FBI probably wouldn’t lock my computer and then demand $200 from me via credit card to unlock it. I started my computer back up (which started fine and I’m no longer “blocked”) and I’m doing a virus sweep now.

     I just unplugged my computer, got on my Blackberry and Googled “Computer Blocked by FBI” and saw someone else asking a question about the very same thing on ********. Of course it’s scam. Like I said above, the FBI is not going to “block” your computer for illegal activity and then demand you pay them to unlock it. If you’re doing illegal stuff, they’ll come arrest you. Seriously people, DO NOT PAY THE “FINE”! If you pay, your credit card number will very likely be stolen. DO NOT PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

     I don’t know how I got this thing but I’m pissed.

     Hi kids! So all you little porn surfers got the FBI virus, huh? Here’s how I fixed it:

     Boot into Safe Mode. You do this by powering down your machine using the switch on the tower (since your screen is frozen, this’ll be the only way you can power down). Once it’s off, power back on. As soon as you hit the switch, hit your F8 key repeatedly.

     Once the machine is back up, you’ll haev a black screen with several options, one of which will be “Safe Mode.” Arrow down to that and hit ‘Enter’.

     You’ll then get your usual desktop screen, except everything will look bigger and in poorer resolution.

     My neighbor kid got it on their computer and that asked for help. First was the FBI version. I tried boot in safe mode but go a blue screen of death. I disconnected the PC from the network, logged in normally and did a system restore from 10 days ago. I rebooted the PC and everything came up fine. I tried to update Microsoft Security essentials, but could not. I had to remove and re-install security essentials to get the update. I did a full scan and found remains of Trojan virus, Well, I thought everything went find. Today, a new flavor GreenPAck variant popped up. I was told that their three years old was watching a you tube kids son when this happened. It looks like this virus has some parts that stay dormant, and writes itself to restore point before taking over the desktop. In my IT professional career, this is the only virus I see that penetrates Microsoft Security Essential. I am fdisking the hard drive an re-formatting it and re-loading the OS. I hope that this virus doesn’t build a data base that keeps track of vulnerable IP addresses

     Safe mode by itself won’t work. You need to go in under Safe Mode with Command Prompt and continue from there as I wrote above.

     Okay, so I was a victim of this scam couple days ago. This scam appeared on my desktop and laptop on the same day. (What an unlucky coincidence.) I was on noodle tools to worl on my science project, then my screen just changed and got the scam with the disturbing images on it. I saw the instructions listed above about the safe mode and everything but I didn’t want to face the disturbing images again, just in case. So I live chat with YOOCARE EXPERTS 24/7 ONLINE and got it fixed. They are very cool and fixed my computer in a few miniutes! They told me that if I do it incorrectly, the scam will still be running in the background and will appear after recording your actions. So I have some advice for all of you victims.
     1. It’s better to get your computer fixed immediately, and get it repaired rather than trying to fix it yourself
     2. DO NOT PAY THE MONEY! IT IS A SCAM!
     3. If you payed the money, call the moneypak company to get a refund.
     4. Learn from your mistakes And don’t go on the malicious sites you went to.

     This Department Of Justice malware/virus scared the wits out of me because the pop-up screen seemed so ligit. I really was gonna pay the 300$ until I suddenly thought about OJ and OFFICE SPACE. Also, this happened so early in the morning using my laptop the web cam caught me off guard, since I hardly use the damn thang it gave me the creeps just wondering if they caught me half naked….Now I have to unlock this stuff whata mess!

     Got this virus a while back and got rid of it by booting in safe mode with networking and running a malware remover. Now, approx. 3 months later, the FBI virus popped back and the virus HIJACKS my system even when I am in Safe Mode with Networking! I appear to be powerless to do anything.      Hi my mom called me this morning in a panic saying that when she tried to log on her computer a screen for “The Department of Justice” pops up saying her computer has been suspended and that she has 48 hours to buy a moneypack from walmart to unlock it. To me this didn’t sound legitimate and I tried restarting her computer in safemode, but she gets this message saying that an alteration in her safeware is preventing her from restarting in safe mode. I tried running Microsoft Security Essentials on her computer and it removed a lot of viruses and I hoped that it would have fixed the problem, but no such luck. How the heck can I fix her computer?

After I hit enter “safe mode with networking”, it supposed to take me to the normal window screen and start getting rid of virus(according Youtube), but mine just shuts down, loads up again and takes me to the FBI warning virus site.      this is so stupid how can any 1 go into safe mode, or task manager when the dam thing wont or cant minimize ya thanx, but what Im finding is help I can not get to 1st its a 300 1 that turns my web cam on. theres no stoping that then my roomie cums home an loads a cd in cd rom drive Idk what it is, fixes it tells me get on imvu see if every thing runs ok.      I just got this fbi virus and was mildly scared for about 5 mins. But then I realized that the fact that they are asking for a moneypak is a little too sketchy. I use moneypaks every day so I figured this was a scam since it’s the same principle as a prepaid phone and if you know anything about that then you can see why a moneypak would be the perfect way to extort money without being traced.

     Anyway, I control alt deleted, shutdown, then cancelled the shutdown which allowed me to get back in my system and killed the sh*t. No safe mode or anything required.

     Stay off the Celebrity and Porno sites and you stand a better chance at keeping your computer clean.This FBI scam is not even a virus.It’s just a file that attatches a .jpg file that comes up on your screen and takes the place of your desktop so you can’t see the icons or wallpaper as it has taken it’s place.It does no damage to your computer and it’s just a nuisance for most if you have no knowledge of how to remove it.

     I actually got one of those from a malicious ad on a website that I accidentally clicked on, brought me to a porno page and then this popped up: FBI has blocked your computer for any one of the below causes. Pay $300 to unblock your computer with moneypack, I have no idea on how to got rid of the fbi virus. I did try Ctrl+Alt+Delete and still have Virus appeared, last i chatted with you guys, then the one John helped me out in a few minutes. You are LIFESAVER!!!!!!!!! Thanks! I hope this helps others.

     I had this FBI Moneypak virus on my screen a few days ago. Had read of scam so I knew not to send money. Called my internet provider and verified this was a scam. Wish I had known about this site. *tech tried to get me to pay $400.00 then $300.00 then $169.00 and finally $110.00. I was about to give credit card info but my mind and heart said no. My computer is up but I am wondering if FBI Money pak will popup again. He installed AntiMalware but I do not trust any one now. Have no sensitive or personel info on computer. But if it does appear I have a little knowledge of trying to remove it

     Also got one of those. Wanted me to pay £100. Looks very legit and all, but after reading it over a few times, I picked up that the grammar was not very professional. What I did to get rid of it was shutting down my laptop and turning it back on. While it was starting up again, I repeatedly pressed f8. It got to my user log in page, so I logged in. The notice still popped up, however, I proceeded to press f8. It went away and I started running a virus scan. Busy scanning at the moment, will post in the a.m. as to what’s happened.

     I got this on my computer still running windows xp. Went to safe mode,and it still popped up with its scam fbi messages. I then went to safe mode with command prompt. So far it seems to work. I’m writing this about five minutes after rebooting. But, will see if this scam fbi virus reinstalls itself or something after another reboot. I hope someone sticks a knife up the asshole of the waste of human flesh that programmed this virus.

     Hi, I got my self in the same situation with fbi virus or something like DOJ. First thing I did is turn off computer then shut down wireless router then started my computer. It did not show me warning message but it showed me blank white page ( I knew this because there is no internet connection so it can’t execute the web page). It did not let me do anything.
