Conclusion

Snap.do redirect virus is just another newly released hijacker to infect our computers. To be infected by a browser redirect virus, a wrong click online would do the job. This browser redirect virus can help other viruses to get inside your computer to enlarge the infections. For example, when you land on the fake searching results links, Trojans and other malicious programs can be allowed automatically to download into your computer. It will collect your personal information for remote hackers so that they can make benefits out of them. It can also turn your computer into running slower generally till it’s completely stuck. And if you don’t remove it out of your computer, it will continue to infect other browsers and PC functions. I had the same fucking virus, and it was so shitty, because I got it from the most popular way to record your computer that has great reviews from all kinds of websites.

  2. Theo says:

I got snap.do today (1st October 2012) with FreeFileSync which I downloaded from sourceforge.net. I have never had malware from sourceforge before! During the installation there was no option to unselect unwanted toolbars. Very sneaky!

What is worse, the method described above does not work, so I am assuming the bad guys changed the way snap.do hides itself in Windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Andrew says:

Got the same thing via a free EPS viewer via C¦Net! During the install process it gives you no choice but to allow the snap.do install when installing the viewer.

Spending the morning now fighting to uninstall the damn thing. Poor job CNet.

    Hello
My partner managed to download this, unknowingly, when he was downloading an album, legally. It has taken me 3 hours to delete everything I could find on his brand new PC and reinstall the correct settings. This is an insidious programme that surely should be banned. Do the people who produce this sort of rubbish have any idea of the misery they are causing around the world.
I have better things to do on a Sunday than sort out the mess they wreak on other peoples pc’s. Would love to get my hands on them……
Thank you for letting me rant and helping me sort out the problem.

I really need someone’s help! One of my parents downloaded this stupid toolbar. I’ve tried to follow the directions above to uninstall it, but they’re not working. I recently used this website to uninstall the Live Security Platinum virus, and even though I know next-to-nothing about computers except for basic functions, I was successful. I felt the directions were very clear and helpful. This isn’t the case with this set of directions. I have no idea what I am doing and I am terrified that I am going to mess something up. Any help will be much appreciated!
