I need to know a method which can help me remove PUM.Hijack.StartMenu completely. I have been with this nightmare for about a week and haven’t found out an really effective way to get rid of it. I tried several different antivirus programs and they all scanned out many threats on my computer and removed some of them. However, for this one I meant to get rid of they seemed are not able to help. The infection alert still pops up and what I have tried with them turned out to be in vain. Is there any other ways that I can have a try? Any help will be appreciated.

Information about PUM.Hijack.StartMenu

PUM.Hijack.StartMenu is indeed a headache to many computer users. The most obvious reason is that this threat is not hard to be found. But it is really tough to remove it completely. It can always come back after you push the end operation such as a restart or another full scan. It can always be detected by antivirus software thus it is recognized as a Trojan infected. It will change the settings on Internet Explorer, Google, Yahoo or MSN search engines to hijack net users when they are doing some searching activities. It often hijacks them to unsafe sites by installing some other browser hijackers onto the weakened system.
This PUM.Hijack.StartMenu script is designed by cyber criminals mainly to collect and steal the confidential privacy or important data like user account number and password. This script can track your browsing activities or your search histories and analyze them to get useful information it needs. It will also add its code to the windows start up section to get activated each time you start up windows. That is why it is always running when you have a scan with your security software. It will make numerous changes in some important settings to make some functions of the PC useless or worse. Since the script is well designed, the installation of the virus will not be detected by the antivirus. It is always after some time that your antivirus give you alert of such an infection or “your compute is at risk” warning. Apart from that, the risk will also put your computer into a bad performance by slowing down every regular functioning of programs.

To Summarize Shortly:

The most obvious reason why the script PUM.Hijack.StartMenu is bad and unwanted factor to computers is that it gets into a target system without the permission or even without the notice of the PC users. It brings bad effects to the regular programs and will not allow them to work properly. And the worst part is that it makes the system detection ability more and more vulnerable. There will be more and more other threats get into the infected computer more easily. That can make a sense why we are always finding new infections when we are still struggling with this old one. If you want to put an end to the nightmare you need to get rid of the infection in time before it brings more other worse troubles to your computer.
