Browser hijacked by SweetPCFix? Can’t get rid of the pops up? I usually use Google Chrome or Firefox as my homepage and now they have been hijacked by this thing! How to get rid of the thing hacked your browsers deeply?

SweetPCFix Hijacker Description

The SweetPCFix redirect virus is also called the SweetPCFix.com Hijacker Search attack, and it is an Internet browser hijacking attack that hackers use in order to take control of the browser settings of the system and redirect the users to pages that they control. The most common redirect destination for this attack is the SweetPCFix.com page, which is designed to resemble a popular search engine. At first glance a user that wasn’t paying great attention would assume it was Google that they arrived on.

Since it looks like a legitimate search engine many users enter in their search query and then wonder why they have been sent to a page that isn’t related to what thy just searched. The user will be redirected to pages that are full of advertisements and pop up ads, and they can also be sent to pages that contain additional viruses and Trojans.

The SweetPCFix Hijacker redirect virus will display search engine results pages that look identical to Google’s but once the user clicks on something it is evident that they are not on Google. It might take a rookie computer user a while to learn that there is something drastically wrong, but a regular user will be able to notice the problems fairly quickly. This virus is just the beginning, as it will attempt to download additional attacks and attack the system together. The user will notice that the overall speed of the computer will slow down and it may even change some of the visible settings, such as the background image and icons. As more viruses and attacks are installed it will drain the CPU usage and this will lead to a system crash.
