Remove Trojan.Hookaberg Virus

Don’t know how to remove this Trojan.Hookaberg virus from my computer. I have Windows XP as my system. All I have done is to use my anti-virus program to get rid of it, but my security tool can only quarantine it for me, I don’t know why. Every time I turn on my computer, I can get the annoying virus alert which makes me nervous. How can I completely eradicate this virus? Any advice?
