What Happens If Your Computer Is Blocked by White Screen?

As you can see the white screen virus accuses the owner of the computer of violating copyright laws, sending spam email messages, and also distributing pornographic material online. Then, it states that a fine must be paid immediately, usually within 48 to 72 hours depending on the version of the message. The fine will range anywhere from $100 to $300 and it must be paid using the services of prepaid electronic funds transfers. Examples include Ukash, Greendot MoneyPak, and Paysafecard.

The hackers will only accept those forms of payment because it provides an instant money transfer without the option of a dispute or charge back. If they accepted debit or credit cards then the computer user could dispute the charge with their bank or credit card company, and once the issuer realized that it was a fraudulent charge from a computer hacker the transaction would be reversed.

While the message states that the block that has been placed on the computer by the white screen virus will be removed once the payment is verified, this is not accurate. Once the payment is sent there will be no further communication and the computer will remain blocked and unable to access the programs and applications. After a few days pass and the virus lock screen is still displayed the user will figure out that they have been scammed but there is nothing that they can do to attempt to recover the funds that they sent.

I was unable to start in the Safe Mode with or without Networking. The PC would almost get to the safe mode screen and then rebooted again back to the virus.

  2. Lars Erik says:

Safe Mode with command prompt worked to remove this virus. I found nothing in regedit, however I deleted a bunch of things in the temp folders and part of the virus. After that I got a white Screen only, I did some random deleting in the registry that I just gambled where causing it and now the white screen disappears.

  3. anthony says:

On the start-up screen, you will have 2-3 seconds to open either wordpad or notepad and then write down anything. When the white screen comes up or it freezes, press ctl+alt+delete command at least 5 times and then just press the power button. It will say end now and and then ask you to save or just click cancel it. Once you complete, do not shut off your computer and you will be able to use it again.

  4. Purple yeti says:

If you can’t run it in safe mode, run it in command prompt. When the screen pops up type explorer.exe and then it will run in safe mode.

  5. mike says:

I have not yet used this method that is shown above, but now I will and will report back. What a mess, you download something that you think is safe yet you get this bug. I removed the hard drive, pulled the battery, and it was still there. I will never download any thing that says it’s free.

  6. Anonymous1337 says:

I did everything to delete the virus files. Now I can see my desktop, but I can’t see my task bar, shortcuts, and gadgets. Which Files am I supposed to delete? Most of them don’t look like virus files. I don’t have the FBI virus. I have a similar virus that just covers my taskbar, desktop, and gadgets and I can’t click anything, though I managed to get rid of the White Screen that was blocking it.

  7. dalea says:

I’m having real difficulty with this. I am going into the safe mode without networking and within a millisecond I have the White screen, blocking all of the computer access.

  8. Nick says:

Got that FBI locked thing on my computer, and all I got now is White Screen. Is this a virus or a scam? I have 48 hours to pay 300$ fine or else I get set to prison and I can’t even log on my computer.

    • Cnelso says:

It is an FBI virus & a White Screen Virus. It looks like you got 2 viruses on your computer, like I did.

  9. danielle says:

I can’t go to the safe mode because after I press the power button on my computer, a white screen appears whenever I type the ctrl+alt+del command, it blinks and then goes back to the white screen.
